Statement |

The Samoan Community Council of San Diego (SCCSD) was
created to preserve, uphold, and promote the cultural heritage
of Samoans. Through education, civic involvement, and strong
committed leadership, the SCCSD will strive to serve,
strengthen, and unite the community. |

I would like to take this opportunity to say “Thank
You” to all who attended and supported the The Miss
Tausala San Diego Pageant 2007and honoring Toa o
Samoa. We sincerely appreciate your generosity and
support. Special gratitude to our U.S. Congressman
Eni F. Faleomavaega for taking the time out of his

commemorate Veterans Day, Samoan fallen Heroes and

right here in beautiful San Diego on February 9 & 10 at
Petco Park! This is an exciting event to support the Pacific
Island Rugby Teams (Australia, Fiji, New Zealand) and of
course, our personal favorite…. MANU SAMOA!

Scholarships 2008
SCCSD has been chosen to receive a $1,000 scholarship for one of our
graduating high school seniors. Interested students should meet the
following requirements:
* Boy or girl
* Pacific Islander heritage includes the communities of
Micronesia, Melanesia, and Polynesia
* AVID (Advanced Via Individual Determination)
* Asian, Black, Latino, and White accepted if Pacific
Islander is not available
Please return the following by March 28, 2008
(must be hand delivered or
sent electronically only):

* Letter of Recommendation from Counselor or Teacher
* Letter of Acceptance from college or trade school
* Letter from you stating future goals and how the
scholarship will help you
